- You can read any book in the library.
- If you cannot find a title, please ask the information counter for assistance.
How to borrow books.
- You need a library card to borrow books. To get a library card we need to know your name and local address. Please bring in a Driver’s License, Insurance Card, or Certificate of Alien Registration, etc. with your name and local address on it.
- You are responsible for all materials checked out with your library card, so please do not lend your library card to others.
- You can borrow up to 5 books or magazines at a time and keep them up to 14 days and borrow up to 2 video tapes or compact discs at a same time and keep them up to 7 days.
Extending the term of your borrowing.
- You can renew books for another two weeks one time, as long as they are not on reserve for someone else.
Show us your library card and tell us that you want to renew. New books, magazines and audio-visual items cannot be renewed. You can also apply for an extension over the phone.
How to return books.
- Return all borrowed books to the information counter.
Do you know what services are available in the library?
- Reference services
A reference staff is available to help you find information you need in your research, studies, etc. Reference services by telephone, mail and at the reference counter can provide factual information on a variety of topics.
- Inter-Library borrowing.
Patrons can borrow most books by mail from the Prefectural Central Library or the another libraries. However, there is sometimes a charge for postage.
- Reservation service
Patrons can make a reservation for materials that are out on loan. We will call you when the materials are returned.
Patron’s responsibilities.
- Please return all borrowed materials on time. The library is for public use, so please handle all books and other materials with care. If you damage or lose any books or other materials, you will have to pay to replace them.
- When you change your name, address, or telephone number, you have to submit a notice of change.
- When you leave Matsuzaki, please be sure to return your library card and all borrowed materials.
- You can make copies of most materials, but you cannot make copies of books borrowed from another library.
